Company History

We are anti-corrosion and sealing specialist Winn & Coales International Ltd. Our SeaShield systems were developed as an extension to our well established range of protective coatings which have been in use worldwide for over 85 years. The SeaShield systems are designed to protect the vulnerable splash zone area of jetty piles against corrosion and at the same time giving some resistance to mechanical impact.

To-date our SeaShield systems have been protecting marine piles from the ravages of the ocean for over forty years. Effective protection over this period of time would be a considerable achievement  on land but in a marine environment it is truly outstanding

The first SeaShield systems were installed in Japan, Australia and Tasmania in the early 1970s. During the 1980s the systems started to take off in other countries and many more installations were carried out. The UK was no exception with notable projects undertaken such as the historic                Worthing Pier in 1984. Recent inspections have shown that this application is still  giving excellent protection after many years of service.

Since those early installations in the 1970s, SeaShield systems have been specified in numerous marine protection projects all over the world and today the Seashield product range has matured into one of the best that is available. Add expert technical support to product quality and availability and you have a winning formula which has sustained the SeaShield brand for well over 40 years.
